In Via Christi Podcast

The podcast, produced by Dr. Caitlin Jolly, is dedicated primarily to supporting our alumni as they serve the Church in their respective dioceses. At the same time, the rich conversations we’ve recorded promise to build up the entire body of Christ—priests, religious, and laypeople alike.

Each episode unfolds a conversation between our seminarian co-hosts Mr. Patrick Germann and Mr. Joshua Lesan, an alumnus of St. Pat’s now ministering to the faithful, and either a member of the faculty at St. Patrick’s or a sending bishop.

The inaugural season explores the theme of spiritual fatherhood. Start listening with our introductory episode and our first full conversation, “Toward the Father: Considering a Ratzingerian Understanding of Fatherhood,” in which Patrick and Joshua speak with Fr. Joseph Fessio, SJ, editor of Ignatius Press, and Fr. Doherty about the theme of spiritual fatherhood in the work of Joseph Ratzinger/Benedict XVI. We’ll release new episodes every week, including:

  • Dr. Anthony Lilles and Fr. Stephen Akers on the essence of spiritual fatherhood

  • Dr. Margaret Turek and Msgr. John Talesfore on God the Father and the mystery of atonement

  • Archbishop Salvatore Cordileone on fatherly authority and sacrifice

  • Fr. Mark Doherty and Fr. Michael Liliedahl on the priest-father as principle of unity in a fractured Church
