Academic Policies & Procedures

Before the registration period of a semester in which he proposes to take a Directed Reading Course, a student must submit a brief proposal to the Academic Dean that includes topics and texts the course will cover, and assignments and assessments the course will include. Before the course can begin, the Academic Dean and the instructor of the course must approve the proposal, and the instructor must submit a syllabus for the course to the Academic Dean.

The St. Patrick’s Seminary Style Guide contains institutional guidelines for the formatting of written work and the citation of sources. The Style Guide is available on Populi.

Official transcripts and enrollment verification may be requested by currently enrolled students here on the Registrar’s Office page. Alumni may request an official transcript here on the Alumni page.

To ensure consistent expectations and to help students identify areas of strength and weakness, instructors grading formal written assignments use St. Patrick’s Writing Skills Rubric. The rubric is available to students on Populi.
